Keyboard-first workflow
Fast navigation, command mode, workspace switching and tile control without relying on mouse-heavy interaction.
A modern, keyboard-first desktop environment for the Commodore 64. Inspired by tiling window managers like i3, classic tools like Norton Commander, Linux-style terminal workflows, SID culture and experimental GPT integration.
TileDesk64 is not trying to imitate a generic vintage desktop. It deliberately brings modern workflow ideas to 8-bit hardware: tiling, keyboard control, terminal-centric usage, modular tools and a distinctive retro-tech identity.
Fast navigation, command mode, workspace switching and tile control without relying on mouse-heavy interaction.
Split views, maximize, minimize and restore. Keep multiple tools visible at the same time in a compact C64-friendly layout.
Editor, commander-style file manager, SID player, Linux-inspired terminal and htop64 all fit naturally into the same environment.
The first release is already rich enough to feel like a serious retro productivity environment, not just a tech demo.
TileDesk64 is meant to look like a product, not just source code. Branding, splash screens, footer credits and supporter slots all reinforce that.

TileDesk64
The current feature set is already strong enough for a polished v1.0 showcase: tiling desktop, editor, commander, terminal, htop64, SID player, branding and experimental GPT concepts.
A public release can be paired with Patreon support. Keep the base release accessible, then use support tiers for early builds, supporter credits and feature voting.
Ideal for itch.io or direct release distribution with the main v1.0 feature set.
Best for early builds, public roadmap influence and a named place in the supporter section.
Placeholder supporter slots can be shown from day one and later replaced with real Patreon names.
Keep expectations clear. That helps both buyers and supporters understand what TileDesk64 is meant to be.
